The 4-part live and interactive online session will introduce both parents and professionals supporting children with autism to enhance their understanding of how early attuned relationships positively shapes a child’s brain, behaviour and learning capacity.
The attachment between an infant and caregiver creates a lasting sense of security and safety for the child, which allows for optimal growth and development. When the attachment relationship is disrupted by either a developmental disability or emotional stressor experienced by caregivers, children can feel insecure, unsafe and anxious. Participants will be introduced to attachment theory and strategies of attuned co-regulation to increase the quality of relationships and function in autistic children.
Each module will be 90 minutes and recordings of the sessions will be available 30 days after the session:
Module #1
The Science of Attachment and Attunement as it relates to Autism Spectrum Disorder
