The Garden of Love and Compassion (by Bob Spensley)

Anyone who’s seen a few of Kim’s workshops, particularly on the themes of relationship, will recognize the Jhamtse Gatsal Children's Community. It’s the location where the Emmy-award-wining “Tashi and the Monk” documentary was filmed, in the remote foothills of the Himalayas of india. We would like to fully dedicate this time and space to its example of bringing compassion into action, despite hardship. Why raise the example of this unique community? And why especially now?

While the isolation and uncertainty of the pandemic is dragging many of us down, and in many parts of the western world the Winter season is ongoing, this place that is literally at the end of the road offers hope as a beacon of spiritual resilience.

Within a recent newsletter from Jhamtse International, a volunteer organization that supports Jhamtse Gatsal - Tibetan for “The Garden of Love and Compassion” - there is a blog (SEE BLOG HERE) that tells the story of why this place and its people are so inspiring to our family - Bob Spensley, Kim Barthel and Lista Spensley-Tagornak. Its mission is aligned with what we hold dear - supporting the conscious evolution of the human spirit. We lovingly invite you to get to know them.

See the free 40 minute documentary “Tashi and the Monk” by Andrew Hinton and Johnny Burke, and explore if you don’t feel some Spring is coming. Maybe a great time for planting seeds?
