Six Live Zoom Sessions with Kim/Relationship Matters and Be & Belong in Australia*

In this six part webinar series you will participate in a unique and exciting learning experience. Each 90-minute session will explore specific themes to deepen your understanding of the art of therapy and connection. Story telling, theory, and demonstration will be woven together to provide an insight into the clinical reasoning process of a master clinician.

This webinar series is aimed at Allied Health and Medical Professionals including psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, counsellors, mental health workers and educators.

Some of the sessions will include videos of Kim working with Australian children and their famiiies.

Session 1 - August 14: Being Your Best Self

This year has been full of change and uncertainty, which can lead to increased stress and fatigue. In this session we will explore…

  • What it means to be your best self.

  • Ways to become our best therapeutic self.

  • How to bring self-awareness and mindful presence to your life and therapeutic work.

Session 2 - August 21: Building Relationships & Connections

This session will…

  • Introduce ways to strengthen client relationships.

  • Develop your ability to co-regulate clients and their families.

  • Explore ways to enhance your inter-personal support.

  • Enhance your attunement skills to non-verbal communication.

  • Help you to understand the importance of communicating with clarity.

  • Encourage curiosity about helping clients and families find their own inner resilience.

Session 3 - August 24th: Coaching Caregivers to Support Basic Motor Skills

This session will provide…

  • A practical video demonstration of Kim coaching an Australian family through hands-on therapy techniques for the development of motor skills in the home environment.

  • An introduction to completing a motor skills assessment.

  • An exploration of Kim’s clinical reasoning process to support motor skills positioning and posture.

  • Ideas to support basic handling

Session 4 -  September 4: Supporting Individuals with Challenging Behaviour

This session will provide…

  • A practical video demonstration of Kim coaching an Australian family who have a child with challenging behaviour.

  • An exploration of Kim’s clinical reasoning process in relation to individuals with challenging behaviour.

  • Insight into the reasons for challenging behaviour.

  • Ideas about effective intervention.

  • Ways to support a caregiver to increase their own attunement and co-regulation skills.

Session 5 - September 11: Helping Sensory Processing Issues in Any Setting

This session will provide…

  • A practical video demonstration of Kim coaching an Australian family who have a child with sensory processing differences.

  • An exploration of Kim’s clinical reasoning process in relation to understanding a child with sensory processing differences.

  • Practical ideas and modelling of adaptive strategies that can be safely used at home.

  • Ways to work with minimal resources in a client’s natural environment.

Session 6 - September 18: Pulling it All Together

This session will…

  • Offer clinicians a clinical toolbox of intervention strategies in an integrated manner for application across a wide range of settings.

  • Explore ways to integrate the concepts from the previous 5 sessions.

  • Give an opportunity for a deeper-dive into how to effectively support families and clients.
