There is always a reason for the behaviour! This powerful two-day workshop will provide an understanding of why people do the things they do.
The focus will be on “complex and challenging behaviour”, and what’s going on behind it - from developmental disabilities to emotional/relational problems, from attachment strategies to the integrated neurobiology of sensory processing. Participants will be invited to forevermore become behavioural detectives, using informed clinical reasoning to look deeper than the surface actions we observe. By seeking to understand why people do the things they do, we allow compassion into the equation. This mindset of clinical curiosity supports treatment strategies at school, at home, and in all levels of relationships.
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will:
Have a deeper understanding of the function of challenging behaviour, and the many factors that may be involved
Be able to differentiate between sensory processing issues, developmental disability challenges and the emotional and cognitive components of complex behaviour
Be introduced to strategies and skills to support students, both in the classroom and at home
$300 USD all proceeds go directly in support of Navajaveena Rehabilitation
