IN-PERSON WORKSHOP: NDT for ASD: Neuro-Developmental Treatment for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder - Live in Hong Kong

  • In Person Workshop Hong Kong (map)

This is a hybrid course designed to teach the theory and hands-on NDT principles as they apply to children with ASD. Current motor control literature and neurobiological research each increasingly highlight the prevalence of motor systems impairments as part of the ASD diagnosis. Despite this, movement challenges are the functional limitations are most often neglected in the treatment of children with ASD. Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) is a frame of reference that guides clinicians in the analysis and treatment of posture and movement. This cutting-edge workshop applies NDT principals, assessment, and intervention in treating the movement challenges of children on the spectrum. Comparing and contrasting between ASD compensatory motor patterns and typical motor development will be emphasized, offering a foundation for the facilitation of new motor learning. This full course consists of 12 hours of online training as a pre-requisite, and 2 days in Hong Kong with in-person lecture, hands-on labs, group discussions and live treatment demonstrations.
