IN-PERSON WORKSHOP: Becoming a Behavioural Detective: Understanding Teen Behaviour and Supporting their Development through the lens of Neurobiology - Live in Hong Kong

  • In Person Workshop Tung Chiu Commercial Centre Hong Kong (map)

Adapted from Kim Barthel’s most prolific and well attended workshop, Becoming a Behavioural Detective. This 3-day in-person workshop provides a deeper understanding of why our teens do what they do also offers informed ideas of how to relate to them as parents and / or as professionals.

The focus of this workshop is on understanding the brain changes that happen between the start of puberty and the early twenties, offering insights into understanding the surface actions we observe.

From emotional/relational challenges to sensory health and attachment, to learning and peer interactions, a holistic mindset is required. It is through seeking to understand why teens do what they do, trom a myriad of perspectives, that we allow compassion into the equation.

Fundamentally, the mindset of clinical curiosity and the science-based information in this workshop supports practical intervention strategies that are relevant at home, at school and in all levels of relationships. Interventions that include co-regulation, biological interventions, sensory-motor strategies, and academic supports will all be introduced and discussed.
