Trauma Informed Practice – Level 2 Practical Applications

When interacting with individuals with complex trauma, it is often challenging to know what to do, and how to support them - how to read emotional cues, when and how to intervene – it can be different for every person. This workshop will support professionals working with people who have experiences of trauma in their lives. It will describe and model the necessary relational skills that can rewire trauma responses and change dys-regulated coping patterns. This workshop will emphasize practical trauma intervention strategies, combining compassionate dialoguing, sensory strategies and environmental alterations that help support the development of self-regulation and daily function. Competency in trauma informed solutions requires knowing yourself, your triggers and projections leading to enhanced relationships and healthy boundaries with your clients.  Learning will be facilitated through lecture, story-telling, group problem-solving from case examples, role-plays, practice of communication skills, and active reflection.
