Trauma-Sensitive Professional Practice & Resilience
People who have experienced trauma are all around us, and we ourselves have lived through challenging situations and events that may have lasting impacts on our lives. This two hour workshop initially explores the impacts of various forms of trauma on behaviour, function and learning. Slightly different from trauma-informed practice which could be perceived as cognitive based, trauma-sensitive approaches and strategies are more compassion based, drawing from emotional intelligence and attunement as well as neurobiology. Ultimately this workshop will discuss fostering resilience in others and in ourselves - so we can adapt and thrive in this ever-changing world.
