Webinar: Seeing and Moving - A Visual and Vestibular Course

Live and interactive, Sydney Australia time, but all are welcome! Join us for a two day webinar discovery of the integration of the vestibular and visual senses. This course will provide an understanding of the neurobiological interaction of interaction of the visual and vestibular systems and their impact upon movement, regulation and learning. Understanding of brain mechanisms to support treatment processes of the visual vestibular integration will be emphasized.

Course Objectives:

1. The learner will develop an appreciation of the role of the vestibular system upon the postural system.

2. The learner will develop an understanding of the role of the vestibular system upon learning and cognition.

3. The learner will develop an understanding of the role of the vestibular system upon regulation and emotion.

4. The learner will develop an appreciation of how the vestibular and visual systems are integrated neurologically and functionally.

5. The learner will develop an understanding of the connection between the visual system and the postural system.

6. The learner will develop an understanding of visual processing for perception.

7. The learner will develop an appreciation of the impact of vision upon regulation and learning.

Intended Audience:

This webinar course is designed for occupational therapists treating a wide variety of children and youth with developmental disabilities and neurological challenges. In addition to occupational therapists, this course is open to physical therapists, psychologists, or other professionals.
